Our Story and Mission

In 1784 , Samuel McPheeters, Sr. and his wife, Margaret , were given a land grant of 300 acres south of the Holston River . They had come from Virginia to settle in the area now known as McPheeter's Bend . Sometime before or around 1800, McPheeter's Bend Missionary Baptist Church was started . The church was formally constituted and accepted in the Holston Association in 1803 . This group of believers gathered to worship , witness ,and serve .They had a vision to reach the community for Jesus Christ ! Praise God that now over 200 years later we still have the same goals !
